Some Video Games you could Zilch

Blog | 28th Sep 2021 | 7min read

Fun fact: the global gaming industry is bigger than the global movie industry, and the North American sports industry combined.

The reason for this is that video games create excitement and engagement unlike any movie or sports match; and, much like Apple products, you simply must have the latest version, if you want to be cool, that is.

The emergence of online multiplayer has been absolutely transformative, meaning players can play against friends and strangers alike.

Looking to check out some video games? Did you know that with Zilch, you can choose the way you pay?

Zilch is a virtual Mastercard that can be used to pay in full or spread your payments over time.

If you pay in full online or in-store, you’ll get 2% cashback in Zilch Rewards.

You can use Zilch Rewards to discount your next shop or save them to spend on a full purchase on your shopping list. It’s up to you.

If you would rather pay over time, you can split your payments into 4 over 6 weeks with 0 interest* at thousands of stores online, including Amazon.

For everywhere else, you can use Zilch Anywhere. You’ll pay 25% of the total price upfront with a transaction fee, then pay the rest in 3 more instalments over 6 weeks*.

FIFA

Spanning over nearly 2 decades, FIFA has pleased and frustrated generations of gamers. An essential purchase for any gamer, keep up to date with your favourite teams, and ever-improving graphics.

Whether playing against friends in your front room, or strangers across the globe, the multiplayer is what makes this game in the shape of the global phenomenon of FIFA Ultimate Team. If you’d rather have a more individual experience, walk a mile in the boots of a professional player on their immersive career mode.

Assassin’s Creed

Despite the somewhat disappointing movie adaptation, Assassin’s Creed is a timeless classic.

As entertaining as it is historically educational, find yourself battling through Ancient Jerusalem, to Ancient Greece, and, in its most recent instalment, raid the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms as a Viking.

Mario Kart

Whether you’re 14 or 40, this game will excite and entertain.

Almost a cult classic, it’s a game that even your parents will know how to play, since they probably played it as kids, too. Race through Pebble Peach, or the near impossible Bowser’s Castle, against friends or family.

Wii Sports

Once upon a time, Wii Sports revolutionised gaming at home. Just since time has moved on since then, it doesn’t mean it’s any less fun.

Interactive, inclusive fun for all of the family, Wii Sports offers a variety of different sports ranging from boxing, athletics, golf and tennis.

Beware the legendary Mii called Matt, who, as legend has it, is solely responsible for several broken TVS across the globe.

Spider-Man

One of the most highly acclaimed games of 2018, Spider-Man had millions of gamers stuck in their web.

Using a huge expansive map of New York City, climb up skyscrapers, swing through central park, and fight lowly criminals with super smooth combat, that will make you feel able to do whatever a spider can.

If you are lucky enough to get your hands on the PS5, Spider-Man: Miles Morales boasts an even more visually striking, high-paced game.

Littered with easter eggs that will give any comic book buff giggling with glee, the story mode will have you entertained for so long, it will feel as if the controller is stuck to your hands.

Batman Arkham Series

We feel we couldn’t do a marvel game without paying homage to DC.

The Batman Arkham Series games are quintessentially DC, with complex heroes and villains, thought-provoking moral dilemmas, and plot twists that will leave your jaw on the floor.

This game truly is a testament to Batman’s title of the “World’s Greatest Detective”, offering a huge variety of puzzles which you must complete using Batman’s wide array of unique gadgets, ranging from remote-controlled batarangs, to remote-detonated exploding gel.

Call of Duty

For those of us who remember the small, no-named Call of Duty games of old, it’s remarkable to witness the global phenomenon that has taken the world by force.

Boasting some of the most entertaining multiplayer that the world has to offer, Call of Duty brings together players from all over the world. Call of Duty: Zombies has also become a fan-favourite, though we recommend not playing this after dark.

The career mode through the games will have you fighting on the beaches of Normandy, through the jungles of Vietnam, or even in outer space.

With a new game coming out every year, it’s all the more important that you have the most recent games as soon as they come out.

God of War

Although gaining global recognition in the early 2000s, being one of the leading Playstation and Playstation 2 games, God of War catapulted itself back to the front of the gaming community with its most recent instalment.

Play as Kratos, the demigod son of the Greek God, Zeus, as he seeks power, and later, revenge, fighting the entire Greek Pantheon of Gods one by one.

This game is remarkably informative about Greek mythology, imbuing you with the power to wow at pub quizzes and trivia games alike.

The most recent God of War game shows a different side of Kratos, as he struggles to bring up his son, Atreus, in a Norse world as frozen, vast and barren as it is dangerous.

Grand Theft Auto / Red Dead Redemption Games

Since these games are made by the same studio, Rockstar, and are essentially the same games set in different times, we’ve decided to group these two together.

Whether you choose to speed through Los Santos in a sports car or gallop through Blackwater on your flashy steed, these games have huge expansive maps that will beckon you to explore all they have to offer for hours on end.

Although not for the faint of heart, the huge maps offer a ton of exciting activities, from rigging the stock market to planning and executing heists or even to look after your family.

The most amazing thing about these games is the free will that it offers you; whether you wish to be a career criminal, or to go legit and become a family fan, you truly are the controller of your destiny.

Uncharted Games

A fantastic mix of action, climbing and exploration, Uncharted puts you in the shoes of the world-famous explorer, Nathan Drake.

Picture yourself as Indiana Jones with a machine gun, and without a fedora, you’ll shoot, jump and excavate your way to mythical locations in search of legendary objects such as the Fountain of Youth in Shangri-la, deep in the Himalayan mountains.

Hopefully, this list has been helpful to you. If you plan to buy any of these games with Zilch, remember to make a list, stick to it and spend responsibly.
