James Schofield brings nearly 15 years of expertise in data science and technology to Zilch. Recognised for his strategic foresight, focus on ML & AI and experience in building high-performing, multidisciplinary teams, James excels in delivering transformative data initiatives.
Prior to joining Zilch, James served as Head of Data Science at Virgin Media O2, where he led teams focused on areas such as network fault detection, customer contact operations and network investment optimisation. There, James spearheaded a call centre optimisation project that drove a £6 million annual revenue uplift and developed AI tools to optimally schedule £4.5bn of fibre broadband upgrade investment, enhancing service delivery and efficiency. James's prior experience includes roles as Senior Data Scientist at Kaluza and Data Scientist at EasyJet, where he developed advanced systems for fault detection, optimised vehicle charge control services, and improved operational efficiency through schedule optimisation.
James holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London, alongside a first-class BSc in Physics from the University of Bristol.
